Gareth Hoskins is a Scottish architect invited by Scotland to represent his country at the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2008. It was a September afternoon of that year when I went to Venice for a meeting. Just outside the train station, my eyes fell in love with a wonderful spruce installation placed in the train station square. A large stair, like a ziggurat, a temporary observatory, the prow of a ship from where you can look at the world with new eyes. Fascinated by this structure, I asked to speak with the person in charge and I left him my business card to be contacted before they would dismantle it. After few months the Scottish foundation that was in charge of the operation called me, and after long negotiation we became the new owners of this wonderful work which is now located next to our factory. This is a way to revitalize large temporary installations that almost all the times are destroyed.
We are glad to invite you to visit us soon, because we would like to show you something that is not going to last for long.
