Every year the Milan Design Week is an event that brings new and stimulating challenges for Fusina.
In that week, because of the Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone, the city becomes one large museum where people can admire original design pieces coming from all over the world and every brand tries to make its presence unique.
Whether it is an exhibition, an installation or a shop window, being able to enhance spaces, materials, objects and pieces of furniture becomes a fundamental skill to emphasize the talent and the creativity characterizing artists and brands. This year too, from the 4th until the 9th of April 2017, Fusina worked together with different brands and designers to create the best technical and exhibition solutions that are suitable for turning into reality the various creative projects, each of them with its own needs and characteristic.
Glass and light: the fittings for Formafantasma
The young Italian designers duo located in Amesterdam, that is Formafantasma, made up by Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin, presented two exhibitions created by Fusina at Fuorisalone 2017, particularly in two evocative places in Milan.
Inside the seventeenth century Palazzo Litta in Corso Magenta, the Formafantasma duo created the space fitting devoted to the exhibition of home decor objects collections for the Turkish glassware brand Nude. In the precious Baroque context of the palace, the jugs, the dishes and the design glass containers were exhibited on high wooden tables made by Fusina, whose light surfaces emphasized the light reflections of the finely crafted glass creations.
A comeback in a traditional place for Milan fashion and culture: that was, for Fusina, the Spazio Krizia fitting in Via Manin (where our team had already worked on the occasion of the fashion show for the brand return) for the Foundation exhibition by Formafantasma. This time the space organization had to be dedicated to the light, the true main character of the experimentation and the designers studies. It is an exhibition path that illustrates the lighting basic principles, phenomenona such as reflection, minimal lamps, concave and convex surfaces, and circles of lights cast on the ground and on the walls.
Bonotto and Gardening The Trash
Another fitting, another familiar place: Fusina set up the spaces for the Gardening the Trash installation in Palazzo Durini, the headquarters of the showroom in Milan that we share with other three creative realities. From the Japanese garden to the inner rooms, the showroom houses the evocative path where the luxury fabrics by Bonotto textile manufacturer meet the recycled materials by MiniWiz, a architect firm specialized in upcycling technologies. Everything was coordinated by the art director Cristiano Segandfreddo: colourful wall tapestries that changes according to the heat, “flowers” made up of refined fabrics, examples of waste materials in an unusual context that build a journey in the future fashion.
Italian gestures: the kinetic installation for Tipic
There were also shop windows that can interact with passers-by at the Fuorisalone 2017. The long-standing experience in creating kinetic fittings is what Fusina made available to the Italian Gestures of Tipic agency: a sequence of three kinetic installations in Biffi boutique shop windows that reacted to passers-by gestures thanks to gesture control tecnologies. Body and hands movements created waves on a surface, made ways, and deformed the shapes reflections on a dynamic mirror.
Making our technical skills, creativity and experience available to the brands, but also experimenting and welcoming innovation: this is what makes Milan Design week a valuable opportunity for Fusina.
